The project Parisian alliance of Cancer Research Institute (PaCri) received the IUH label in Cancer Research (Phuc). This project is part of the « Investissement d’Avenir » program and aims to enable the emergence of centers of excellence that will enhance the attractiveness of France in the field of cancer research. It is coordinated under  the PRES "Sorbonne Paris Cité".

PACRI includes the three major Ile-de-France region institutes dedicated to all levels of education (graduate, post-graduate, continuous), research (basic, translational, clinical) and medical innovation in the area of oncology: Institut Curie, Institut Gustave Roussy (IGR), which both belong to the so-called “Centres de Lutte contre le Cancer” and the Saint- Louis Campus for Oncohematology, which is affiliated to “Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris“ (AP-HP, the largest European hospital network). These three major institutions are linked to  several Paris Universities (Paris Descartes, Pierre & Marie Curie, Paris Diderot, Paris Sud) and University of Versailles Saint-Quentin. In addition, PACRI includes two AP-HP-affiliated Hospitals, the Hôpital Européen Georges Pompidou (HEGP) and the Hôpital Cochin. Binding together these institutions, PACRI will stimulate synergy and excellence. While PACRI will not replace the programs of the participating institutions, it will address major challenges that cannot be solved by single (even large) institutions alone. PACRI works under the umbrella of the “Pôle de Recherche et d’Enseignement Supérieur” Sorbonne Paris Cité , which includes three major Universities of Paris with medical faculties, and has established an additional alliance with the University Paris Sud. Although PACRI is highly selective, it remains open to the future inclusion of excellent teams in emerging areas of cancer research.
